About us

MONTEALEGRE BEACH ARQUITECTOS was formed in 1971. The founding partners are Alberto Montealegre Klenner (Architect, P.U.C. 1961) and Myriam Beach Lobos (Architect, P.U.C. 1964).

In 1989 they were joined by Alberto Montealegre Beach (Architect, U.Ch. 1985), in 1990 Manuel Amaya Díaz (Architect, U.Ch. 1983), in 2003 by Pía Montealegre Beach (Architect, P.U.C. 2003 and Master in Urban Planning) and by Matías Solimano Ratinoff (Architect, U.Ch. 1984).

Alberto Montealegre Klenner • Architect (Universidad Católica de Chile), founding partner of the office  • 40 years of experience in design, management and coordination of multidisciplinar professional teams principally in the areas of Institutional, Housing, Healthcare and Industrial buildings • Since 1972: Teacher of "Taller de Arquitectura" in the Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo of Universidad de Chile • In 1985 is nominated Profesor Titular of Universidad de Chile • Is member of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile (I.C.A.1466) and of ots Comitée of Juries • President of Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile during 2007 to may 2009 • President of the Comisión de Evaluación Académica of the Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo of Universidad de Chile • Member of the Comisión Superior de Evaluación Académica of Universidad de Chile • Member of the Comisión de Apelación of the Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo  of Universidad de Chile • Cámara Chilena de la Construcción, member of the Comitée for Technical Specifications of the Instituto Chileno del Hormigón • Member of the Fundación de Arquitectos of Universidad Católica de Chile • Foundational Member of A.O.A. Asociación de Oficinas de Arquitectos • Member of its Board up to 2002 • In 1989 is nominated by the Goverment of France, member of the Order Of Academic Palms, with the degree of Chevalier • In 2011 the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad de Chile gave him the “Distinción C. F. Brunet de Baines” for his “notable academic contribution to the University and the Country” • In 2012 The Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile gave him the “Distinción Alberto Risopatrón” for his "remarkable gremial action and colaboration with its activities"

Myriam Beach Lobos • Architect (Universidad Católica de Chile), founding partner of the office. 40 years of experience in the design of buildings and landscape architecture • Has also obtained a post-degree in Landscape Architecture in the Pontificia Universidad Católica , in 1990 • Is member of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile (ICA N° 2021) • Is founding member of the "Instituto Chileno de Arquitectos Paisajistas" ICHAP, afiliated to I.F.L.A. (International Federation of Landscape Architects) • Member of the Board of the "Club de Jardines de Chile". during 1970 - 1972.

Alberto Montealegre Beach • Arquitecto (Universidad de Chile) • 30 years of experience in the development of architectural projects and in the management and coordination of multidisciplinary teams, principally in the Institucional, Inmobiliary, Healthcare and Industrial areas • has been a teacher of the course Teoría de la Arquitectura III, eight semester and teacher of Taller CAP, 5th year in the Facultad de Arquitectura of the Universidad de Chile • Is member of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile (I.C.A. 5092) • Instituto Nacional de Normalización -INN. Member of the Comité Vidrios 1997-1999. Participates in the following codes: NCh135 Of.97, NCh135/1. Of.98, NCh135/2 Of.97, NCh135/3 Of.97, NCh2434/1 y NCh2434/2 • Is member of the Comitée for Architecture for Sports of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile.

Manuel Amaya Díaz • Architect (Universidad de Chile) • 35 years of professional experience as designer architect and Project Chief in the areas of Industrial Buildings, Urban Facilities Buildings, Offices and Healthcare • To that experience is added a big practice in construction gained in building industrial and luxury housing projects • Profesor Titular of the Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo of Universidad de Chile • Teacher of Taller de Diseño Arquitectónico and Teacher of Project of Degree • Member of the Consejo del Departamento de Diseño of the Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo of Universidad de Chile • Member of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile (I.C.A. 3017) the Comisión de Concursos • has been Director of the exhibit of National Architecture Awards that took place in the XII Bienal de Arquitectura, 2002 and Coordinator of FAU U. Chile in the last past Bienales.

Matías Solimano Ratinoff • Architect (Universidad de Chile) • 30 years of professional experience as designer architect and Project Chief in the Housing and Urban Facilities building projects areas • To taht is added a large experience in Real Estate Management • Has been co-teacher of Taller 5th Year in the Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo of Universidad de Chile, and teacher of First Year in Univiversidad Las Américas • Member of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile (I.C.A. 4488)

Pía Montealegre Beach • Architect (Universidad Católica) • Master in Urban Development PUC • PhD in Arquitectura y Estudios Urbanos PUC (in course) • Was part of the Ciclo Básico de Arte in the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile • 15 years of professional experience as designer architect and Academic Research • In 2006, teacher with the degree of Profesor Instructor Asociado in the School of Architecture of the Pontificia Universidad Católica • Part-time Teacher in FAAD Universidad Diego Portales • Member of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile (I.C.A. 8426)

Our permanent staff is formed by the six partners, other architects, draftsmen and administration personnel. It is a group of people conscious of being part of a work team in which personal effort and the compliance with quality control and work procedures are essential.
